This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post. 

The post holder has professional and managerial responsibility for the development and organisation of all aspects of the liver transplant process.

Provide 24 hour on-call service for organ donation and transplantation activities both locally and
Nationally.

Provide expert professional and clinical care advice to patients, carers and multi-disciplinary team.

The individual is expected to motivate staff to provide high standards of care by acting as a role model.

Responsible for providing specialist education and training programmes for health care professionals and other professional groups, regarding all aspects of liver transplantation process.

Promote awareness and disseminate information amongst health care professionals, the general public, and the media regarding the need for organs for transplantation.

Promote and undertake research activities ensuring evidence-based practice in the specialist area.

Proved mentorship for junior team members.
