Service re-design has given us the opportunity to expand our existing Occupational Therapy team and we are looking for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join us at Fife Rehabilitation Service.  Fife Rehabilitation Service is a multi-disciplinary service providing neurological rehabilitation in an inpatient, outpatient and community setting to adults aged between 16-64.

We are based at Sir George Sharp Unit, Cameron Hospital and are looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic HCPC registered Band 6 Occupational Therapist to provide specialist neuro-rehabilitation to the 12 bedded in-patient unit.

You will work alongside the existing Band 6 and Clinical Support Worker and have professional responsibility for the assessment, treatment and discharge of patients admitted to the unit with a condition of neurological origin.  You will be responsible for day to day management of the ward alongside the existing Band 6 and be involved in ward and department developments.

Interested candidates should have at least 2 years experience with clinical experience in acute, rehabilitation or a related clinical area.  You must have knowledge and skills regarding occupational therapy in rehabilitation and previous practical experience in managing complex conditions at a senior occupational therapy level.  Knowledge and skills related to neuro-rehabilitation or stroke rehabilitation would be advantageous.  You will work closely with the current Band 6 within the in-patient setting with the opportunity to gain experience in the out-patient/community setting and will have responsibility for overseeing clinical work completed by the Band 3 Clinical Support Worker.  You should possess excellent communication skills and a have a willingness to be an active team player.

You will receive comprehensive induction and ongoing training in relation to neurological rehabilitation from highly experienced Occupational Therapists within the service.  The service offers opportunities for continued professional development including training opportunities, service development and representation at regional and national uni-professional and multi-professional groups.  We actively encourage Continuing Professional Development (CPD), participation in service evaluations, clinical audits, and practice development networks.
