Working within Argyll and Bute HSCP's Public Health Department, this post will deliver on national and locally identified health priorities. 

The current priority for this post will involve developing and delivering stop smoking services. 

Excellent communication and partnership skills are needed to build partnerships and develop seamless client pathways to smoking cessation within the HSCP.  Experience of working within the NHS with a background  in delivering  support to clients around behaviour change and in particular smoking cessation is advantageous.  

 The post holder will work within the community - raising the profile of the service, delivering high quality of care in line with local and national policy for patients. 

The post holder will use use behaviour change techniques within smoking cessation to deliver the Quit Your Way Stop Smoking service as well as  delivering health improvement project work . 

The post holder must be trained to SVQ level 4 in health or social care or equivalent and have undertaken the NCSCT specialist advisor training or be willing to attend this course.

Currently we have one post covering Oban and Lorn and Helensburgh and Lomond at 30hrs, but we are open to being flexible in splitting this into 2 posts one for each area.
