The Post Holder will provide support to the families of children with complex healthcare needs and life limiting conditions at home and in the community of West Dunbartonshire by undertaking a range of delegated nursing care tasks, within an agreed competency framework.
On completion of a training programme, you will provide nursing care competently and accountably in child’s own home or other community setting, providing on-going support for the families who may have children with life-limiting conditions.
Although no formal qualifications are required, previous experience of working with children is desirable. It is essential that the post holder has excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an understanding of the diverse and sometimes distressing nature of the duties involved.
The post requires that you support families by identifying and meeting the emotional and social needs of the child and respect their confidentiality and keeping within staff-client boundaries.
You should have the ability to work independently and be willing to develop new skills.
A good standard of written English is required for report writing, basic maths and a driving licence are desirable.
This is a permanent post with a zero hour contract, these will be worked as and when required and these may be between one to two hours or more dependent on child’s needs.
This post requires PVG Membership – successful applicants will be required to join the PVG Scheme.
