Cardiology Advanced Nurse Practioner Band 7/ Band 6,  Annex 21


We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic Registered Nurse to join our team of Cardiology Nurse Practioners (NP) at Glasgow Royal Infirmary.  Working within the multi-professional clinical team the role of the Advanced Nurse Practioner is integral to the smooth running of the acute hospital.  The postholder will work at an advanced level undertaking; clinical decision making, assessment, diagnosis, treatment including prescribing, for patients with cardiology and other multi-dimensional problems. Decisions are made using high level expert, knowledge and skills and clinical competence in the delivery of a high standard evidenced based clinical care, in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council and Health and Safety Legislation.  The NP also supports junior nursing and medical staff and is actively involved in teaching.

The successful candidate must have well-developed, demonstrable leadership skills and the ability to problem solve under pressure plus understand the delivery and demands of Unscheduled and Scheduled Care. 

You must be a Registered Nurse with relevant clinical   experience within cardiology and educated to Masters Level.  This post is also available as a training post under AfC Annex 21 to candidates who can evidence working towards Masters level   

The post is full time and you will work within unscheduled and scheduled cardiology care services.
