An exciting opportunity has arisen following a recent retiral for an enthusiastic and experienced individual to work as Admin/WL Manager for Orthopaedics North Sector.  

The shift pattern is day shift office hours


You will 

  • be responsible for Direct Management of Orthopaedics Waiting Lists and Waiting Times, covering both Outpatients and Inpatients.   
  • ensure compliance with Treatment Time Guarantees (TTG) and Waiting Time targets.
  • have Direct Line Management responsibility for Orthopaedic Health Records team, Waiting List Coordinators, Admin staff and Audio typists
  • have a lead role in Waiting List Training, supervision of administration, secretarial and clerical staff to ensure compliance with waiting list procedures, in line with ‘New Ways’ procedures and the Patients’ Rights Act.
  • manage theatre capacity to ensure that clinical priorities and waiting time targets are met, through effective use of available resources 
  • ensure provision of effective administrative (secretarial & clerical) services to support delivery of clinical services within area of responsibility.

The successful candidate will possess education to degree level or equivalent and will demonstrate extensive NHS experience and detailed knowledge of management of admin and clerical staff.  Previous experience in the management of acute waiting lists is essential.
