CLINICAL TEACHING FELLOW IN RESTORATIVE DENTISTRY

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Dental Surgeons, registered with the General Dental Council, for the role of Clinical Teaching Fellow in Restorative Dentistry at Aberdeen Dental Hospital and Institute of Dentistry. This is a full time (1.0FTE) post. A job share appointment may be considered. The initial focus of the roll will be the provision of clinical supervision to our BDS students and delivery of teaching within the restorative mono-specialisms.
The role holder will be supported in their role by experienced academic, clinical and professional services support colleagues within the Institute, NHS Grampian and the wider University.
You will join our team running the graduate entry BDS curriculum in the Institute of Dentistry. You will be an enthusiastic clinician who will ideally have some experience in delivering both clinical and didactic teaching as well as supervision of student clinics or early career colleagues within a dental school or vocational training environment.
There will normally be between 6 to 10 students treating patients in our open plan clinics alongside three clinical supervisors allowing excellent staff: student teaching ratios.
The post holder will have the opportunity to engage career development activities as part of their weekly timetable.
You will be employed with the University of Aberdeen and an honorary contract will be sought with NHS Grampian. Full time members of our team will ideally take on a patient clinic within the building.
All applicants must be fully registered with the General Dental Council, UK with significant experience in delivering primary care dentistry.
Salary will be at the appropriate point on Clinical Scale for Academics below level of Consultant, £36,412 - £52,701 per annum, and negotiable with placement according to qualifications and experience.
