This is an exciting opportunity for a forward thinking nurse to join the COPD Nurse Team in Dundee.  The aim of the Dundee Health and Social Care Partnership COPD Programme is to improve the quality of life of patients with COPD, ensuring that the highest standard of care is given. 

You will work in close partnership within the COPD nursing team.  This involves working in a GP practice and a community setting.  The role includes assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the care requirements of a diverse client group with complex health and social care needs.

The Band 6 trainee will have a Diploma in COPD management and will be supported to complete work based competencies. The Band 5 trainee will be supported to complete their Diploma in COPD management as well as the work based competencies.  Both The successful applicants will be supported to obtain Non Medical Prescribing Qualification and be supported to develop and demonstrate advanced practice in the role of a COPD Specialist nurse.

 As a COPD specialist nurse you would be expected to practice autonomously. This post offers an exciting opportunity for developing leadership skills. The applicant would be expected to work in a manner in keeping with the principles of person centredness supporting safe and effective care.

The post holders will be a registered general nurse with previous experience.

You must be registered on Sub-part 1: RN1 or RNA or Sub-part 2: RN2 of the NMC Register  ​​​​​​​

They should also be able to demonstrate effectively management of their own time, and have good evidence of ongoing professional development.
