This is an exciting opportunity for a compassionate and resilient Clinical Associate in Applied Psychology (CAPP) to join Fife’s Addictions Psychological Therapies Service (APTS). 

APTS is a highly motivated, friendly and committed team of psychologists. Our aim is to increase access to psychological therapies to people who have drug and alcohol problems in the context of histories of complex trauma/adverse childhood experiences.  

The key purpose of this role is to provide evidence-based psychological therapy and consultation to a variety of statuary and non-statutory addiction services. You will deliver psychological intervention for individuals with mild to moderate psychological disorders and addiction difficulties. In addition to individual psychological therapy, you will deliver group interventions. You will work closely with multi-disciplinary staff, volunteers and service users in order to tailor intervention and input according to needs identified.

You will join the Fife Psychology Service: a large (105wte clinical staff) multi-specialty service, with extensive involvement in training, research and service development. Close links with Edinburgh, Stirling, Dundee and St. Andrews Universities’ D. Clin. Psychand MSc courses continue and professional development, CPD and service-based researchactivity is well supported. You will take an active part in the Area Psychology Service, seeking opportunities for professional development and contributing to that of others. The post will be based at Lynebank Hospital, Dunfermline.
