Glasgow City HSCP has a diverse population of approximately 590,000 people and employs around 3000 WTE staff and has approximately 561 independent contractors. The Services delivered by Older People and Primary Care include, Community Nursing (District Nursing & Treatment Room, Community Phlebotomy and Specialist Nursing Services), Social Work, Rehabilitation & Enablement, Respiratory and Older Peoples Mental Health. 

The Community Phlebotomy Service undertakes a range of planned bloods within community clinics or within patients’ homes including residential care home settings. The service is available to adults within community and primary care settings by appointment

The post holder will have responsibility for day to operational management including performance monitoring of staff. This role will encompass the Band 5 Staff Nurses and Band 3 Phlebotomists.

The post holder will support the Team Lead in developing, implementing, monitoring and maintaining high quality clinical practice across the service.

With support of supervision, the post holder will ensure that their own practice and that of their team members, (in conjunction with professional leads), is within the legal and ethical framework of their professional body to ensure that patients’ interests and wellbeing are met.
