Due to fixed term Scottish Government funding, NHS Highland is able to offer a 12 month contract for the post of Locum Consultant Neurologist.  This post is based at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness with no on-call duties. 

There is an enthusiastic team of medical staff, specialist nurses and AHPs who collectively deliver neurology services including general neurology, epilepsy and a memory clinic (specialist interest clinic), a MS clinic and a Botulinum Toxin clinic on a monthly basis.

This post is to provide Neurology expertise for outpatient clinics and may contribute to inpatient specialist referrals. It offers the challenge of delivering high quality health care to patients living in remote locations and the opportunity to deliver both face to face and Near me/ telephone clinics.

The Highlands offer a unique environment for a variety of leisure activities, and good schools and facilities for families.

This post is offered as 10 Programmed Activities per week, the details of which will be discussed with applicants prior to appointment.  Applications from individuals who wish to work LTFT or work flexibly are welcome.

Applicants must be on the GMC Specialist Register for General Medicine, with a Licence to Practise or be within 6 months of being eligible for the Specialist Register at the time of interview.
