An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated physiotherapist to join the specialist AHP Front Door Team at Glasgow Royal Infirmary. This post covers the Emergency Department, SATA (Specialist Area for Triage and Assessment) and Medical Receiving. The main focus of the team is admission avoidance in the ED. The AHP’s are proactive and quality focused and are working on a number of change ideas to enhance the service, therefore, this is an exciting time to join the team. The post holder will also require specialist acute respiratory skills/interest as there will be a daily acute respiratory caseload within AMU in addition to rostered time in ED. The team work a shift pattern to meet patient needs. The post holder will be required to contribute to these shifts by ideally working 3 x 10 hour shifts a week, Monday to Friday, however there is some degree of flexibility. The post holder will require to take on cross professional competencies and training will be provided. Some loan working should be expected, however there are good formal and informal support systems in place. Applicants must have at least 3 years postgraduate experience within the NHS, including experience supervising others. Other responsibilities of this post include training of rotational staff, students and contributing to the physiotherapy on call service. Proven evidence of working within an acute setting is essential, respiratory skills and with evidence of audit and research.
