An excellent opportunity for development has arisen in the psychotherapy department for an experienced and enthusiastic Nurse Therapist (RMN). The post is being offered as a permanent position at 26 hours per week at Band 8A.
Applicants will have good knowledge and experience of Mentalization Based Therapy (MBT) and psychodynamic processes. They will be available on Mondays. Tuesdays with other days to be negotiated. The role will include undertaking psychodynamic assessments, MBT group therapy and individual psychodynamic psychotherapy under supervision. The post holder will line manage junior members of staff and deputise for the Service Lead. They will also assist with the teaching, supervision and assessment of students, and trainee members of staff from NHS Grampian and other organisations
The post holder will be working with patients suffering with moderate-severe mental health problems. They will require the ability to communicate highly complex information to patients compassionately and effectively in often highly emotional and even hostile atmospheres.
The post will be based at Upper Garden Villa, Royal Cornhill Hospital. The post holder will join a multi-disciplinary team of consultant psychiatrists in psychotherapy, nurse therapists and adult psychotherapists.
