An excellent opportunity has arisen to join the NHSGGC eHealth Operational team.
Cyber threats are indiscriminate & increasingly prevalent. EHealth are required to be vigilant as well as being pro-active & reactive in response to any threat to ensure we protect delivery of our critical services & data irrespective of where and how they are hosted.
This post is essential to maintaining and continually improving our security compliance posture & must work closely with our complementary Information Governance Team & processes.
All elements of the role will require significant inventive focus adhering to National guidance and regulatory controls as well as advising on technical or operational best practice while simultaneously demonstrating value, cost containment & sustainable service delivery.
All elements of delivery will require a methodical, replicable approach that can easily be understood and complied with in EHealth as well as by all other Departments and staff.
Applicants are expected to have the following qualifications and experience
• Degree/Masters or equivalent in computing or information management or similar numerate subject: or degree in any subject plus post-graduate qualification in information security or relevant discipline.
• Seasoned IT professional with demonstrable experience of successful security experience in delivering services in a large corporate organisation. Significant experience in successfully managing complex programmes of work.
• The post holder should have a thorough understanding of the principles of ITIL service delivery model. ITIL foundation level qualification is desirable.
• Experience (with examples) of implementing services across a business that is undergoing major business change.
• Knowledge of the modern NHS and how it works or of a similarly complex landscape.
• Broad knowledge of IT industry and strong technical experience across a number of areas of IT including applications service delivery (on-prem & cloud), applications development, IT hardware, operating systems networks and infrastructure, how all these elements can securely interact.
• Managerial competencies including excellent team-working and communication skills, presentational skills, written as well as verbal, leadership and organisational skills, commercial awareness, customer focus, diagnostic analytical and planning skills; ability to present to and engage a high level managerial or clinical audience.
