The 18-month fixed term Band 5 Staff Nurse posts offer an exciting opportunity to join the innovative School Nursing Team within West Dunbartonshire HSCP, with a blended approach to working in a clinical base, agile accommodation and from home as required. The post holder will work as part of the School Nursing Service to support the implementation of the care pathways for school aged children and young people. You will support the work of the existing team delegated and supervised by the SCPHN School Nurses and Team Leader. There is also the expectation that the post holder(s) will gain the knowledge and experience required to progress to the Post Graduate SCPHN Programme to become a School Nurse. For this reason it is essential applicants have successfully completed a degree within Nursing. It is essential you bring experience and understanding of the health needs of the school aged population to ensure the provision of the service is effective, efficient, culturally sensitive and evidenced based to reduce health inequalities and promote health and wellbeing for children and young people within school and the community. The post holder(s) will work in partnership with service users, local authorities and other agencies to deliver quality, evidenced based and person-centered programmes of care. You will liaise with other services and organisations as appropriate, make onward referrals if necessary and in some circumstances escalate where there are child protection concerns. A working knowledge of EMIS is advantageous. You will be an experienced First level Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council and have experience of working within the community ideally with children and young people in a school setting. As West Dunbartonshire covers a large geographical area, a driving license is desirable
