The Airdrie Older Adult Community Mental Health Department has an exciting permanent full-time opportunity for an RMN – Registered Mental Health Nurse to join the Older Adult Community Mental Health Team in a Team Leadership Role, based at the Harry Walker Centre.
The Team Leader will be required to provide clinical expertise and to develop a service to meet the needs of the older adult population in the Airdrie Locality. Accountable for leading and managing a team of qualified and unqualified nursing staff in the capacity of first-line manager, including responsibility for managing resources within defined budgets (range). They will be responsible for assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating programs of care, and providing direct patient-centered treatment and nursing care, within the clinical fields of mental health/learning disabilities.
A full valid UK driving licence holder will be essential for this position to meet the needs of the service.
The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate the following KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE.
- RMN – Registered Mental Health Nurse with valid NMC Registration
- Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level
- Postgraduate expertise within a specialty/area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safely, effectively, and efficiently.
- Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the specialty/area of practice.
- Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies, and procedures associated with the specialty/area of practice ensure that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within the specialty/area of practice.
- Management qualification or equivalent gained through experience and continuous professional development
- Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of specialty including study days/courses/post graduate qualification
- The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate others and work using their own initiative
- Excellent listening, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Effective time management skills
- Working knowledge of basic information technology
