The Neuro Rehabilitation Unit (NRU) in QEUH is looking for 2 Physiotherapists. A new permanent 0.8 WTE Band 6 Highly Specialist Physiotherapist post has been created to backfill current services, allowing expansion of the physiotherapy role in the spasticity service. Also there is a full-time, 9 month temporary Band 6 Highly Specialist Physiotherapist position to backfill a maternity leave. NRU (formerly known as PDRU) is a regional resource providing specialist multidisciplinary rehabilitation for neurologically impaired and major trauma patients. The successful candidates must have an interest in neurological rehabilitation. They will work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver physiotherapy to optimise patient’s mobility and function. These posts will be part of the B6 rotations offered within NRU covering in-patient rehab, clinics and spasticity services. There is a strong focus on development in the unit and B6 therapists will be supported to supervise B5 rotational therapists, generic support workers and students alongside undertaking service development projects. Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years post-graduate inpatient experience and be skilled in neurorehabilitation. Evidence of relevant CPD would be expected, alongside excellent interpersonal skills and a flair for team working. Applicants must have a Degree in Physiotherapy with current HCPC registration. The temporary position may be considered as a secondment but this would need to be arranged via your current line manager. Hours of work are: 8.30-4.30 4 days a week (30 hours) for the permanent position and 8.30-4.30 5 days a week (37.5 hours) for the temporary position.
