This role is part funded as part of NHS GGC’s Memorandum of Understanding with the University. It is essential you have recently obtained a relevant environmental, business, procurement & supply chain or sustainability related degree with membership of a relevant organisation. Prior sustainability and/or procurement related experience of working in a large organisation is preferred.

The Sustainability Intern will be based at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH), but the role will cover all sites across NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde. You will help with the establishment sustainable procurement benchmarking and strategy development as part of the Boards sustainability strategy. You will be comfortable working with procurement and supply chain topics and systems, as well as developing communications and training materials in relation to sustainable procurement.

You will assist the sustainability and procurement departments in the development of the Boards annual submission of the National Sustainability Tool which aligns the Boards to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. This will require working with departments across the organisation on specific procurement and sustainable development based projects as required.

You will be expected to assist in the development of Sustainability communications campaign for all sustainable procurement related issues and topics.
