NHS Lothian Welcomes applications for Band 5 Registered General Nurse & Theatre Practitioners in Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh (RIE), Western General Hospital (WGH), St John’s Hospital (SJH), Lauriston Building and Princess Alexandra Eye Pavilion. We are looking for passionate, caring, motivated people to join our highly skilled nursing teams to work within a number of different acute medicines and specialities, including Outpatient Departments.

Exciting Opportunites are available within the Department of Sleep Medicine (DSM) & the Cardiac Catheter lab at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh

Department of Sleep Medicine (DSM)Flexible Monday-Friday working Pattern which includes core shifts, Early & Late shifts. Night shifts are optional following a period of training. • Opportunities to rotate to Respiratory Medicine and Home Ventilation Service. • Bespoke training provided to achieve competencies specific to working within DSM. • Specialist working environment inclusive of MDT participation If you are looking to join a dynamic multi-disciplinary team that is working to improve patient’s breathing, sleep and overall quality of life every day and night then the DSM is for you. The Cardiac Catheter Lab is unique, and the team adopts a multidisciplinary working approach • Newly qualified nurses with no previous lab experience have been an integral part of the team in recent years. Team members are provided with the opportunity to participate in an excellent introduction to interventional Cardiology programme in the state of the art 'Edinburgh Heart Centre' • There is a comprehensive training package to cover all procedures, and everyone is allocated a Band 6 mentor from day one. Training opportunities range from the Level 1 Critical Care course, Cardiac Courses, ILS and many more. • Working hours are Monday to Friday 0800-1800 with commitment to the 7-day Primary Angioplasty on-call service. (For more information please see the attached document).
