Dental Practice Manager (Ref: 105037)

Distant Islands Allowance of £1,971 per annum
We have a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to join our busy Public Dental Service, overseeing the administrative support part of the service. This is an excellent opportunity to join an evolving remote and rural dental team, with a strong focus on patient-centred care and continuous improvement.
As part of our salaried dental service, you will lead a team of administrative patient facing staff as well as being responsible for key enabling areas like IT, patient flow and visiting clinics. You will have management and leadership experience being the overarching manager for the administrative team and as such has responsibility for developing, monitoring and maintaining various initiative, policies, practices and procedures
The Dental Practice Manager liaises with the wider dental management and clinical team to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the service as a whole. NHS Shetland provides a full range of dental services through the Public Dental Service (Lerwick, Brae, Yell and Whalsay); secondary care dental services (orthodontics, restorative and maxillofacial surgery) through a clinical network of visiting consultants; dental care for priority groups with special needs; school inspections and oral health promotion services. Wider working with independent dental practice and representing NHS Shetland on national groups is also required.
This is role undertaken by working closely with the Lead Receptionist and will oversee the Special Programme Co-coordinator in their role in coordination of visiting clinics and their respective clinicians as well as other dedicated PDS clinical projects like NDIP and sedation clinics.
The job holder represents NHS Shetland and is responsible for overseeing dental treatment claims to Practitioner Services Dental, changes to the Statement of Dental Remuneration, updates the R4 practice management software (Carestream) and the input of information on SSTS for PDS staff.
