Research Analyst (Ref. 105055)
Part-time 22.5 hours – permanent
£33,072 - £40,736, pro-rata (AfC Band 6)

An exciting opportunity has opened up for an experienced, enthusiastic and positive individual to join Scottish Medicine Consortium’s (SMC) Public Involvement Team, which is part of Healthcare Improvement Scotland’s Evidence Directorate. SMC aims to improve healthcare through health technology assessment (HTA) of new medicines, with the provision of advice to Health Boards on their clinical and cost-effective use, as well as horizon scanning to support financial planning for new medicines.
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Identify the salient findings from both quantitative and qualitative health technology assessment evidence and communicate this information to a diverse audience (NHSScotland and the public) in an accurate, clear and concise manner.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, healthcare professionals, Patient Group Partners and members of the public, in undertaking systematic and robust research and evaluation projects, to define research questions, undertake literature reviews, collect and collate data, synthesis, write up and present the findings.
The successful candidate will have a degree in a relevant discipline, experience of writing in plain English and relevant experience in health services research and evaluation methods. You will also have excellent oral communication skills, have experience of engaging effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and the ability to present at meetings, conferences and events.
