The post holder will lead on the operational and clinical management of In Patient Services and the operational management of board wide professional leads (Learning Disability) The Service Manager is an integral post within the Senior Management Team leading on service delivery, quality, service effectiveness, change management and patient experience. 

A sound knowledge of Learning Disability policy, organisational policy / procedure and a working knowledge of the wider service landscape with all partners including the third sector will enable the Service Manager to develop and deliver a quality, person centred specialist service for people with learning disabilities who come into contact with our services.

An accomplished manager / practitioner with a demonstrable track record in integrated working, the Service Manager will lead a dynamic and skilled team of professional leads and senior staff within In Patient Services who are forward thinking and practising to the highest level of clinical / care excellence.

Leading by example the Service Manager will work proactively with community services to assist teams to support people within their communities avoiding the need for admission to in-patient services where possible, this may mean leading on creative person centred alternatives to traditional admission and working collaboratively with all stakeholders. The role will be delivered with drive and commitment to achieve the best possible outcomes for people with learning disability. Current 1st level NMC Registration (LD) or Current 1st level NMC registration (RMN – with extensive Learning Disability  experience also considered)

More than 5 years post-registration senior clinical / operational experience Evidence of continual professional development

Degree educated or ( working towards )  or equivalent level of experience
