An exciting opportunity has arisen for a nursing leader to work as part of the NHS Tayside Electronic Patient Observation (eObs) & Clinical Assessment System project team.

The post holder will support the development, delivery and management of the implementation and maintenance of the clinical aspects of Electronic Patient Observation (eObs) & Clinical Assessment System. The post holder will also support the ongoing development and evaluation of Electronic Patient Observation (eObs) & Clinical Assessment System.

The post holder is responsible for supporting the delivery of roll out of Electronic Patient Observation (eObs) & Clinical Assessment System across NHS Tayside hospitals including:

  • Development and implementation of standard operating procedures for new ways of working to ensure efficient safe practice, patient safety and improvements in the patient journey.
  • Training of staff in use of the administration aspects of the system.
  • Undertaking of audits to evaluate the implementation and the benefits realisation on an ongoing basis.
  • Support the evaluation of the contribution of electronic observations and patient assessments to patient care.
  • Support all stakeholders with the challenging task of initiating a new service and improving this in the light of structured monitoring and feedback.

Candidates will be able to evidence their ability to provide clinical leadership which inspires and motivates others, empowering teams to work towards effective, safe and person centered care.


Applicants should be registered on either Part 1 or Part 12 of the NMC Register and have extensive experience. You will be educated to degree level demonstrating an understanding of quality improvement and service development with a proven track record of managing people and evidence of improving care for patients.

Hours of work - 37.5 hrs per week. Fixed Term for 18 Months
