Fixed Term for 16 weeks from 5th September 2022



We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated Registered Nurses to join the Vaccination and Immunisation Team to support the delivery of the extended Flu programme for school aged children across NHS Borders. The successful candidates will have an understanding of the current Scottish Immunisation Programme and deliver vaccines to the school aged population in and out of the school setting.  You will also support the delivery of a high quality, culturally sensitive and effective service, working in partnership with other agencies and providers. Good communication will be an essential requirement of this post skills coupled with the ability to work both within a team and independently, across the NHS Borders regions in a variety of settings.  Opportunities to work across the wider vaccination service may also be available.


Essential qualifications required for the post are Registered Nurse along with evidence of continuing professional development. You must also hold a current driving licence and have access to a car as there is a significant amount of travel involved in this role.

Final year nursing students are welcome to apply if you are to graduate and obtain NMC registration later this year.  If you wish you can commence as a Band 4 Health Care Support Worker pending NMC registration.

Overseas Nurses are welcome to apply if you have confirmation from the UK Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) that you are eligible to sit the practical test of competence (OSCE) to apply to join their professional register and they have issued you with an NMC PRN number.
