The Department of Clyde Clinical Biochemistry provides services from three sites across the Clyde Sector - the Royal Alexandra Hospital (RAH), Inverclyde Royal Hospital (IRH) and the Vale of Leven Hospital (VOL). The total workload amounts to greater than 7 million analyses of more than 120 different tests.  As a dedicated Specialist Biomedical Scientist you will be working within a highly specialist technical service within the laboratory. You will rotate through the sections of the laboratory, including Core Biochemistry, Metabolic and Point of Care. In addition, you will be expected to attend Diabetic Clinics and interact with patients, you must be able to work unsupervised. You will also be required to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues in order to provide a comprehensive Biochemistry service essential for effective diagnosis, treatment and monitoring.  You must be organised and professional at all times and ensure the work is undertaken efficiently, to provide a high quality, timely service.  It is essential you have a Honours Degree in Biomedical Science and current registration with the HCPC. The shift pattern is day, night, weekend and back shift and is undertaken from RAH, IRH and VOL.  There are 2 posts available with this vacancy and they are both Fixed Term contracts, one is for 9 months and one is for 18 months.
