The Scottish Centre for Simulation and Clinical Human Factors, was established in 1997, and is situated in Forth Valley Royal Hospital.  The centre is home to Scotland’s only high fidelity patient simulator.  The centre offers training to a wide range of Health Care Professionals across all sectors. With an opportunity to get hands on experience of managing clinically challenging scenarios without risk to patients.


A vacancy has arisen for a part time, (maternity cover) simulation technician who would join a highly motivated multi disciplinary team which included: centre director, education coordinators, another technician, research fellow and administration assistants.


Eligible candidates should have:

  • A health related qualification
  • Good organisational and communication skills
  • Sound technical knowledge and skills, with the ability to learn new skills rapidly
  • An interest in clinical skills training and / or simulation would be desirable
  • Familiarity with audio-visual systems and use of technology for education would also be desirable.


In house training and support in these areas can be offered to the successful candidate


A willingness and ability to function as an effective member of the existing team is essential.  The successful applicant will work with a wide range of Healthcare professionals from different specialities and must have a willingness to participate in role playing in a variety of clinical scenarios.
