The primary focus of this position will be the management and treatment of acute respiratory presentations within an acute inpatient setting. Developing and forming close links with early supported discharge nurses, community respiratory team, pulmonary rehabilitation services and respiratory outpatient service are essential to this role. This role offers the unique development opportunity for 9 month rotations into respiratory outpatient clinic’s 1.5 days a week, this will be supported by the principal physiotherapist within this service. Applicants must be able to demonstrate and be confident in complex clinical reasoning and have sound knowledge of pathology and disease progression within the respiratory specialism. The post holder should be able to demonstrate advance skills in the assessment and treatment of acute respiratory patients with multiple co-morbidities. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated and dynamic in their approach, high professional commitment, a strong team-work ethic, and have previous experience of audit and service development. The post holder will be responsible for the education and training of rotational physiotherapists and students within the team. Be involved in band 5 respiratory city wide training, on call training and specific clinical governance groups relevant to this clinical area. Part of this role will be in promoting the service and the team at a local and national level. A minimum of 3 years post graduate experience is required for this post.
