Healthcare Improvement Scotland (HIS) is seeking to recruit two innovative people with climate change and or sustainability experience. These posts provide an exciting opportunity for proactive individuals to support the delivery of the NHS Scotland’s, Climate Emergency and Sustainability strategy. This will include developing and implementing our organisations Net Zero action plan while working with other NHS boards and government bodies to reduce NHS carbon emissions.
The successful candidates will work with the resilience lead in driving forward our ambitious sustainability targets, raising the profile across the organisation and responding to national audit requests. The post holders will establish and maintain effective working relationships, with HIS staff, Climate Emergency & Sustainability leads from a broad range of national climate change organisations and national resilience and sustainability groups.
You will be required to engage with key stakeholders, gather and analyse complex information before making decisions that ensure multiple programmes are planned and delivered, within agreed quality, timeframes and budget. You will be educated to degree level (or have equivalent experience) and be a confident communicator with great people skills, be creative in problem solving and be an effective team player.
You will be working as an integral part of a small resilience team and will help shape and manage the work programme of the team, its impact on the wider organisation’s activities and ultimately support climate change and sustainability initiatives across Scotland. Therefore, this role may occasionally require travel throughout Scotland.
So, if you are passionate about climate change, biodiversity, net zero and sustainability, we want to hear from you.
