We are seeking a dynamic, inspirational and experienced manager who will be responsible to the Director National Operations for managing the National Risk and Resilience Department. The role has strategic oversight and responsibility for Special Operations Response, Resilience, Community Resilience, Intelligence and Security, Business Continuity, and Risk Management portfolios. You must be capable of working on your own initiative and have experience of managing multidisciplinary teams.  You will have the ability to analyse and interpret complex as well as sensitive operational and clinical data for the teams involved to identify trends and support the development of the future workforce model.  You will have effective team building skills and will engage with Scottish Government Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response, Territorial Health Boards, other emergency services, and wider stakeholders.

As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, you should possess significant experience at middle or senior management levels within the organisation and have a proven track record of success, sound judgement and decision making. In addition to this, you will also need a proven track record of performance delivery and evidence of exceptional people management skills and partnership working. The successful candidate will be required to undertake security clearance to an enhanced level and continued employment in post is dependent on security clearance being obtained and maintained.

You will be influential, determined, quick thinking and a people manager, capable of effecting change. Strong communications and interpersonal skills are essential. Experience of managing in a project environment is desirable as is the ability to seek and incorporate the views of patients, staff, NHS Boards and other significant stakeholders.

The base location for this post is Newbridge.
