Full time 37.5hpw, fixed term for period of traineeship (up to 3 years)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for two enthusiastic and self-motivated individuals who want to develop an accountancy career in the NHS. We are ideally looking for candidates who are already part qualified towards a CCAB professional accountancy qualification. The ideal candidates will have graduated, who have a genuine interest in healthcare and who have the motivation and drive to progress their career in NHS Finance and make a difference to the local community.
Reporting to the Head of Area Accounting, once qualified you will provide a comprehensive technical financial accounting advisory service to Service Managers and other finance staff. This includes management of the function and associated staff to ensure that service delivery meets all user requirements and all professional standards.
We are ideally looking for applications from candidates who are already studying towards a Consultative Committee of Accounting Bodies (CCAB) Professional Qualification, and have some finance experience. However exceptional candidates who are committed to a finance career in the NHS, but who have not yet commenced professional training will be considered, and if successful offered a three year training and development opportunity.
Remuneration will be based on Annex 21, and will dependent on the time that will be required to complete the qualification. The fully qualified role is paid at a band 7. Remuneration will be a percentage of the top of this band and the post-holder will be placed on the scale depending on the time required to complete training as follows:
Year 1 65% - £31,100
Year 2 70% - £33,492
Year 3 75% - £35,884
Pay progression will be dependent on completion of training milestones.
This is a fixed term position, and the offer of a permanent position at the end of the training period will be dependent on successful completion of the training and qualification.
