Clinical Fellow Opportunities (Middle Grade)
Come join UHM’s Emergency Medicine Middle Grade Team from August 2022 for a period of one year.
Flexible working opportunities for those wishing to explore specialist interest, including in Anaesthetics, Frailty, Ultrasound or Acute Medicine. Less than full time working available.
We are an enthusiastic Emergency Medicine Team, seeing approximately 77,000 patients per year, with a varied case load of minor, major and acute life threatening presentations.
You will be well supported and taught by our 13 experienced Consultants in Emergency Medicine, who have a variety of split job plans with expertise across Acute Medicine, Ultrasound, RCEM examinations, Management, Simulation, Major Trauma and Adult & Paediatric Retrieval Medicine.
You will have the opportunity to attend a half day of bespoke middle grade teaching each month; access to study leave; and regular educational development time as standard. There will be lots of opportunities to learn/develop your EM ultrasound skills and develop practice procedure competence using our dedicated clinical simulation suite.
You would be joining UHM at an exciting time, with the location for our new hospital now identified. Scheduled to open in 2026/27, this brand new state of the art facility and smart campus, will be the digital flagship for acute healthcare within NHS Scotland. Comprising Emergency Department, Combined Assessment Unit, inpatient speciality and concentrated specialties, Theatre and ITU facilities, the hospital will also be combined with a new Cancer Unit as well as state of the art Medical Education and Training facilities. An excellent opportunity to get involved in the planning of our new Emergency Department.
