The post:
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for two experienced Financial Accountants to join NHS National Services Scotland’s Finance service. NSS Finance strives to deliver excellence in strategic financial management enabled by sound governance, business insight and efficient and effective services.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will join the Financial Governance and Control team, responsible for effective financial governance and control across NSS and our customer boards ensuring compliance with our Standing Financial Instructions (SFIs) and wider control framework. Services include:
• Expert advice on Technical Accounting requirements and VAT
• Accuracy and integrity of the financial accounting records
• Statutory Reporting – Annual Report and Accounts
• Regular review of internal systems, processes, policies, and procedures with regard to NSS inventories.
The candidate:
The successful candidate will be a Qualified Accountant with strong technical accounting skills, and will have experience of financial management within a complex organisation. This is an excellent career opportunity and the successful candidate will be joining a dynamic Finance Service striving to bring financial expertise and solutions to support NSS and the wider NHS in Scotland.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo a PVG Scheme/Disclosure Scotland check. Any candidate who have lived/worked overseas for more than 12 months in the preceding 5 years will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency.
