If you believe in the power of data to help drive improvement then the Clinical Informatics Coordinator role could be for you.  We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and ambitious individual who has the knowledge, skills and vision to take our clinical informatics work to the next level.  

This post provides an exciting opportunity to make a contribution to improving the quality of care in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde through development of data visualisations, interactive dashboards, and staff engagement programmes all designed to ensure data is engaging and meaningful.   

You will work within the Clinical Governance Support Unit (CGSU), which supports NHSGGC in providing high quality, safe, effective and person-centred healthcare.    The clinical informatics work plan is focused on the design of new systems to progress our use of healthcare analytics and quality indicators to aid improvement.  You will play a key role in this by providing expertise in the systems available; supporting strategic projects to implement an appropriate system; and engaging with clinicians and other colleagues/ stakeholders to interact with and understand the data and information presented.  We are at a key early stage in this work, therefore it is an exciting time to join and to help shape how we move into this next phase as an organisation. 

To excel as a team member, you should bring the following to this role:

•    A professional qualification and/or educated to degree level, or able to demonstrate equivalent experience.
•    Skills and experience in data visualisation and development and implementation of data dashboards, as well as programmes to utilise this data most effectively, e.g. R Studio, Power BI, programming and data mining. 
•    Skilled in managing and analysing data, with experience in developing data sets and information flows, and in data handling and analysis
•    Experience of all aspects of project planning, and an ability to prioritise and manage workload 
•    Problem solving skills, and an ability to “think outside the box”
•    Experience of producing high level reports, including written, numerical and graphical information 
•    Experience of working in and with teams, with line management experience would be advantageous.
•    High level of communication skills, including oral skills, written skills and interpersonal skills.
•    Good organisational and time management skills, with an ability to work autonomously and use own initiative
•    Highly literate in PC use, with excellent working knowledge and understanding of the Microsoft office package

Experience of working in the NHS, and knowledge of the NHS’s clinical quality information systems would be advantageous.
