  • Working primarily in the northeast of Glasgow City, the postholder will have responsibility for a broad portfolio of health improvement and health inequalities work in line with local health needs. They will have responsibility for the development and delivery of a variety of work streams, providing strategic and operational leadership to ensure delivery. The post holder will engage with communities of interest to understand inequality and intersectionality and co-produce programmes of work to respond to these. This will likely encompass a focus on asylum seekers and refugees, women and people at risk of, or bereaved by, suicide.  

    The post holder will be required to act in an advisory capacity to provide specialist health improvement support to colleagues and partners, providing work stream management and staff management. The post holder will be responsible for establishing and sustaining links internally within NHS GGC Board and with key external partners/clients/communities to promote health improvement and address inequalities in health. Line managed by a local Health Improvement Lead, the postholder should be educated to degree level or equivalent. The substantive base for the role is Eastbank Conference and Training Centre however equipment will be provided for the postholder to be agile, and a mix of homeworking and office working is expected. The regular hours for this post are 30 hours per week with the option for flexible working between 8.00 am and 6.00 pm.  Some occasional evening and weekend working may be required to meet the needs of the service.
