The Health Records Service provides a clinical administration service supporting the delivery of patient care across University Hospitals Crosshouse and Ayr. Health Records clerks work within a number of dedicated administration office and clinical areas throughout our hospitals.
An exciting full time development opportunity has arisen for an additional Clinical Coding Clerk to join our busy team.
You will provide support to complete, validate and submit Scottish Morbidity Records for In-patient and Day Case admissions across our acute specialties into the Public Health Scotland national data schemes.
You will be expected to complete training in classification of diseases and procedures provided by Public Health Scotland and will receive training and peer support from the Senior Clinical Coder and work colleagues.
To be successful in this role you will have a knowledge of TrakCare Patient Management System.
You will be conversant with Office packages Outlook, Word and Excel. A knowledge of medical terminology would be preferable though not essential.
It is vitally important that you are able to work accurately to a high standard using your initiative and within the wider team.
You should possess SVQ Level 2 in Administration/Information Technology or equivalent and have good communication and interpersonal skills.
