Job Advert

Do you relish a challenge, have the passion to help others and drive forward change?

We are very excited to be offering this newly funded innovative collaborative post between Pharmacy services across NHS Highland and Islands and the Highland Pharmacy Education & Research Centre (HPERC).  The hours are flexible and the base location negotiable.

We are looking for a creative, dynamic and highly motivated Pharmacy Technician who has an interest in developing others to lead on education and training for our growing numbers of Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technicians (PTPT's). NHS Highland along with NHS Orkney, NHS Shetland and NHS Western Isles are employing and training PTPT's across pharmacy sectors via the national PTPT scheme, a Scottish Government initiative supported and delivered by NHS Education for Scotland.

We welcome applications from pharmacy technician registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council with extensive post registration experience having ideally worked in more than one sector of pharmacy practice. Post registration qualifications are essential and a work-based assessor qualification would be desirable but if not held we would support you to undertake this once in post.

You should be an excellent communicator who has the ability to build good relationships with colleagues and other healthcare professionals. The post holder will need to be a good problem solver and be someone who can comfortably question and challenge others and be able to make difficult decisions. You will be an excellent role model with an approachable and supportive nature who has the ability to inspire people to achieve their potential and help shape the future of Pharmacy.

You must be confident to work independently and in collaboration with operational lead pharmacy technicians and pharmacists across sectors in each of the board areas to contribute towards the delivery and governance of high-quality education and training.

If you feel you have the knowledge, experience and enthusiasm for this post and would like any further information or an informal chat please contact:
