Are you looking for a change? A new post, in a new location?
Why not consider a move to Shetland – Islands of Opportunity*.
If you want to be part of a remote and rural island community where you can deliver truly person-centred care and support, to individuals across the lifespan then this may be the opportunity you have been looking for.
We have all been living in challenging times but as we remobilise services out of the Pandemic we are looking for additional staff to join us, in order to continue to develop our community based services, supporting the ongoing shifting of the balance of care to community settings.
When working on a non-doctor island, you will have the opportunity to provide effective nursing assessment and treatment during an emergency situation in liaison with the General Practitioner.
Act as first point of contact to the public in the absence of a residential District Nurse.
Continue the close working partnership that exists with social care partners and the District Nursing workforce.
Provide an in reach service to all residential care homes who care for individuals with a range of highly complex conditions.
The post holder will spend time on remote Islands of Fetlar, Fair Isle, Whalsay, Yell and Unst. To cover the caseload holder. Compensatory rest periods will be applied for the specific Islands
