Clinical Coder/Administrator (Part-time 24.75hours) Banchory Group Practice

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, enthusiastic and motivated Clinical Coder/ Administrator to work in our busy practice.
We’re a forward looking training practice with over 13,000 patients committed to offering high quality patient care whilst providing a friendly, supportive and enjoyable place to work.

We are currently implementing a new Workflow Optimisation System with a team of Clinical  Coder/Administrators processing clinical correspondence more efficiently.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the document management of all inbound medical records and correspondence working as part of the administrative team.


Main Duties include: 
•    Entering electronic and paper correspondence onto the clinical system
•    Reviewing each document, coding and filing into patient records or, where appropriate, sending on to the most appropriate member of either the clinical or administrative teams
•    Identifying  all relevant data held within patient’s paper medical notes and entering the information onto the Vision clinical system
•    Updating and maintaining patient’s electronic medical summaries
•    Supporting the wider practice team
Requirements for the role:
•    Previous experience within a healthcare setting is preferable but not essential as full training will be provided
•    Experience of working in the NHS and knowledge of read codes and medical terminology is desirable
•    Good IT skills are essential to this role
•    Good written skills, accuracy & attention to detail
•    Evidence of working in environment where confidentiality is essential.


Hours of work:
Monday     8.15am - 5.30pm
Thursday     8.15am - 5.30pm
Friday         8.15am - 5.30pm
