Job Advert

The Communications Team is responsible for informing, explaining and engaging with the public, patients, staff and partners – including the media – on all aspects of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. It plays a key role in supporting the organisation to demonstrate transparency and accountability. You will support the Web/Multimedia Lead, in developing and maintaining the functionality and delivery of the external NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) websites; help identify any web issues ranging from front end content or feature malfunctions, to Umbraco CMS back end and web server problems, and alert the Web Lead.  You will provide support and guidance to NHSGGC web content editors located across NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde via the Web Team helpdesk, to deliver high quality, up-to-date information that is relevant, user-friendly, accessible and consistent across the organisation.  You will deal with email and phone enquiries, and on occasion direct face to face for urgent or complex requirements.  Identify out-of-date content on the NHSGGC website through a reporting system, distributing reports to content editors and follow up as required, and logging details on spreadsheet.  Continually check content on the NHSGGC websites to ensure information, writing style, navigation and digital media are consistent and comply with NHSGGC corporate identity standards and other current web standards on writing, accessibility and design.  You will create, publish and monitor social media posts as required by Corporate Communications and the wider organisation, to deliver local and national messages and campaigns.  It is essential that you  are educated to HND level in a relevant subject or equivalent level of training.  You should have relevant recent experience in a web content development and/or support environment using Umbraco or similar modern web content management system. It would be desirable if you have a current driving licence but not essential as you maybe be asked to travel to other NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde locations.  The shift pattern for this post is Monday - Friday 9.00am - 5.00pm.
