​​​​​​​A permanent vacancy has arisen in our Department for a Clinical Psychologist to have responsibility for managing the day-to-day departmental LAAC Service within Child Clinical Psychology service to patients, carers, referral agencies, CAMHS and others for Care Experienced clients and their caregivers with a broad range of often complex mental health needs.  To assess the needs of Care Experienced children and young people within this context and to formulate and deliver responsive, psychological interventions at individual and systemic levels.  To have a specific remit to develop group interventions for Care Experienced children, young people and their carers alongside multi-disciplinary and multi-agency partners.

The post includes supervisory responsibility for psychological therapy staff in the specified area as directed by the Head of Child Clinical Psychology. 

The post holder will be involved in planning and facilitating service and policy developments within the area as well as within the wider department.

The Department, which has a complement of around 80 staff, has psychologists and psychological therapists in all major specialties and is a friendly, supportive and lively place of work.  We currently have strong links with Edinburgh and Stirling/Dundee Universities and take trainees from the Edinburgh Doctoral course and from the MSc course in Stirling/Dundee. We also provide placements and supervision for trainee CBT and other psychological therapists.

The post has dedicated CPD and supervision time.  ​​​​​​​
