The ADHD Assessment Waiting List Initiative (WLI) was commissioned to address the backlog of referrals for adult ADHD assessment across Glasgow City CMHTs, as well as pilot a new pathway for ADHD assessment and diagnosis.

This temporary service was introduced to relieve CMHTs of the high burden of time-intensive assessments that would otherwise have impacted on available new patient assessment slots at psychiatric outpatient clinics. Demand for assessment has continued to grow, and the WLI is now considering options for expanding its capacity, as well as extending its reach to include other HSCPs.

Post Diagnostic group therapy for ADHD was a test of change with recommendations to develop, deliver and evaluate an Occupational Therapy ADHD post-diagnostic education group (SPARKS group) as part of the Waiting List Initiative. We are looking to hire 2 OT’s to East Renfrewshire to address the wait list both locally and within GGC Neurodevelopment pathway.
