SPECIALTY DOCTOR IN OLDER ADULT PSYCHIATRY
Kirkcaldy Area
Permanent Full-time

An exciting opportunity has arisen for us to recruit a Specialty Grade doctor to work 10 sessions per week in the Kirkcaldy and Glenrothes area of Fife; based at Whyteman’s Brae Hospital.

You will work as part of a multi professional team; including 2 Old Age Psychiatry Consultants for the Glenrothes and Kirkcaldy areas of Fife, junior doctors, experienced nursing staff, occupational therapists, clinical psychologists and support workers.  You will work with CPNs and a Community Assessment and Support Team (CAST), who work to an intensive home treatment team model and have strong links with area social work and voluntary agency workers. There is an established Dementia Post-Diagnostic Support service. 

You may also have the opportunity to be involved in Liaison Old Age Psychiatry input for older adult patients, working alongside the experienced Mental Health Liaison nurses, in the District General Hospital, the Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy, and in local community hospitals. 

Applicants wishing to pursue membership of the Royal college of Psychiatrists will be supported in this and/or supported with provision of suitable experience to work towards applying for a CESR.
