TRAINEE CLINICAL SCIENTIST IN PHARMACEUTICAL SCIENCE

Applications are invited from candidates with a First or Second Class Honours Degree in physics, chemistry, pharmacy or an allied scientific subject for the post of Trainee Clinical Scientist in Pharmaceutical Science within the Department of Clinical Physics and Bioengineering’s Radionuclide Dispensary (RND) and PET Radiopharmaceutical Production Unit (PET-RPU), NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
This supernumerary post is funded by NHS Education for Scotland, who, in partnership with NHS Boards, offers training opportunities to high quality science graduates who are passionate about science, its role in modern healthcare, and are committed to NHS Scotland.
You will follow a formal Scientist Training Programme (STP) in Pharmaceutical Science. This will involve gaining practical experience in RND and PET-RPU, and completion of an MSc degree via block-release and distance-learning in Manchester and London. The training in Scotland includes rotations and acquaintanceships across a range of pharmaceutical science specialities and may include placements at other Health Boards within NHS Scotland. Your training will lead towards Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration as a Clinical Scientist (http://www.hcpc-uk.org) aligned with the framework for UK-wide Modernising Scientific Careers.
Appointment is for 3 years, subject to satisfactory performance, starting from September 2022. The appointment will be as Clinical Scientist Graduate Trainee. Current salary scale for these supernumerary trainee posts is 'AfC' Band 6 £33,072 – £40,376. Funding for postgraduate training and course fees will be provided. Closing date for applications is 08 July 2022.
You will work 37.50 hours a week, Monday to Friday, within the core operational hours of the RND and PET-RPU services.
