PHLEBOTOMIST

The Phlebotomy Team at Raigmore Hospital have an opening available for an experienced Healthcare Support Worker to join them on a permanent basis.  The phlebotomy service currently covers most wards in the tower block, Monday to Friday mornings and this post will provide additional phlebotomy cover to expand this to 7 days a week including weekends.

This post will be for 12 hours a week (3 or 4 hours a day) and there is some flexibility around the hours worked between 0630 and 1230 which can be discussed at interview.


It would be ideal and advantageous if interested applicants are able to provide evidence of competence in venepuncture, however if you can demonstrate a willingness to learn along with previous experience working in a care environment, the opportunity to train for this position may be available for the right candidate.  In addition, you will be confident working without supervision, be capable of building a good rapport with patients and making them feel at ease.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary, and experience of using computerised systems would be beneficial.  It is essential that candidates are able to maintain patient confidentiality, be trustworthy, and are committed to providing a high standard of patient care.
