An opportunity has arisen for a Prosthetics Technical Team Lead at the SMART (Southeast Mobility and Rehabilitation Technology) Centre, Astley Ainslie Hospital, Edinburgh. The SMART Centre (www.smart.scot.nhs.uk) provides highly specialised clinical rehabilitation technology services across the southeast of Scotland.
The post holder will be responsible for the leadership and management of the Prosthetics Workshop including overall management of the Prosthetics Workshop staff team. The post holder will work in conjunction with the Orthotics Technical Team Lead and provide assistance and cover as required.
The post holder will provide operational management for the Prosthetics Workshop including the manufacturing capability of the workshop, agreeing stock levels, servicing, planned preventative maintenance and refurbishment of equipment as required within service resources and to appropriate quality ambition and health and safety standards including regulations relating to the Medical Devices. The post holder will ensure compliance with management of the environment, including the management of work areas, equipment, tools and machinery.
The post holder will work closely with the Prosthetics Team Lead and clinical colleagues to ensure a seamless service for the prosthetics services. The post holder will be required to be flexible in their approach and adaptable to service requirements and developments.
