Job Advert

This is an exciting opportunity to work with the Tertiary Eating Disorder Specialist Service (TESS).  The team is based in Coatbridge, but offers a pan-Lanarkshire service.  The team is Psychology lead but multi-disciplinary in nature and also includes Dietetics, Psychiatry, Nursing and Occupational Therapy.  You will join an existing band 7 Senior Charge Nurse who works mainly as a psychological therapist and a band 6 charge nurse, working within the MDT.

TESS works directly with adults and their families/carers who have severe eating disorders resulting in complex needs.  We also have an adapted criteria for young people (in late adolescence) to promote early intervention and to be able to offer evidence based treatments specifically relevant to this client group.    The service offers innovative treatment to people living in the community wherever possible and is able to offer intensive treatment for time limited periods where required.  The team also has a role to support other tiers of the NHSL Eating Disorder pathway via training, supervision, consultation and joint working (which includes community Eating Disorder dietitians).

The team undertakes considerable service development work which the post holder will have the opportunity to contribute to, in addition to participation in National groups.  Regular supervision and CPD opportunities will be available.    This is an exciting time to work in a specialist Eating Disorder service with the recent publication of national eating disorder guidelines and reviews.

Due to the current restrictions of COVID19 a proportion of the post holder’s work will be conducted via video/telephone call, alongside face to face working.

Applicants must possess a full valid driving licence.

Informal enquiries regarding the post will be welcomed by Jo Waine, Consultant Clinical Psychologist & Head of TESS on 01698 754640
