Council: 2 x 35 hours per week
£38,585 – £40,975 including Distant island Allowance*
or
NHS: 2 x 37.5 hours per week
Band 6 £34,386 - £42,050 including Distant Islands Allowance*
Orkney Health and Care are developing intermediate care services to include a reablement service (Homefirst) which will form part of an integrated hub as well as strengthening our support to the care at home service. As part of this service development, we have 2 new exciting Occupational Therapy roles.
Post 1 will support homefirst and the wider intermediate care team
Post 2 will be based in the Community team holding a general community caseload and contributing to moving and handling advice and assessment for service users
The successful candidates will have 2 years post qualifying experience, hold a diploma or degree in Occupational Therapy and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
You will be required to have a knowledge of occupational therapy assessments and interventions relevant to this area of practice. You will support the team using a reablement focus and undertake assessments with individuals and their families to support occupational performance and then arrange the provision of appropriate services to support and meet those needs and the achievement of identified outcomes.
This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect to regulated work with children and adults.
Please note job descriptions will be reviewed as the service is established. We are hoping to offer rotational opportunities as part of that review and these posts could form part of that rotation.
