Location: fife wide (base either Lynebank Hospital or Stratheden Hospital)

This is an exciting opportunity for a compassionate and resilient psychologist to join the developing Addictions psychological therapies service (APTS) and help develop a new multi-agency service initiative.

The development of this service was considered in the context of the recently published
Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Standards, a framework for delivery of sufficiently safe, effective, acceptable, accessible and person-centred services to enable people to benefit from treatment for as long as they need. The service complies with, or complements, all of the MAT standards.

You will provide a highly specialist psychology service for those affected by long-term alcohol and drug use and who are not currently benefitting from the existing system of care. This will involve provision of highly specialised assessments, formulations and interventions.  You will also provide training, clinical supervision and case consultancy to colleagues working in addictions services within NHS Fife and third sector agencies. You will also be responsible for contributing to service development, evaluation and audit.

You will join the Fife Psychology Service: a large (105wte clinical staff) multi-specialty service, with extensive involvement in training, research and service development.  Close links with Edinburgh, Stirling, Dundee and St. Andrews Universities’ D. Clin. Psych and MSc courses continue and professional development, CPD and service-based research activity is well supported. You will take an active part in the Area Psychology Service, seeking opportunities for professional development and contributing to that of others.  The post will be based at Lynebank Hospital, Dunfermline or Stratheden Hospital, Cupar.

Applications on a secondment basis will be considered providing you have prior agreement from your current line manager.

For informal enquiries, please contact Dr Isabel Traynor, Consultant Clinical Psychologist 01383 565403; email Isabel.traynor@nhs.scot
