Job Title: Technical Apprenticeship – Pre-Registration Pharmacy Technician
Grade: Band 4 (Annex 21 Training Post)

We are delighted to announce we are recruiting several Band 4 Trainee Pharmacy Technician positions. This a new and exciting pathway delivered over 2 years, which will enable you to progress into the role of Pharmacy Technician upon completion of the Technical Apprenticeship - Diploma in Pharmacy Services SCQF L8 and registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council. Positions are available within the following areas:
Hospital Sites:
Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh
Western General Hospital
Royal Edinburgh Hospital
St John’s Hospital
East Lothian Community Hospital
GP Practices in each of the following Health and Social Care Partnerships:
East Lothian
Midlothian
Edinburgh Northeast
Edinburgh Northwest
Edinburgh Southeast
Edinburgh Southwest
West Lothian
Training may also include placement(s) in Community Pharmacies in NHS Lothian
We are recruiting to these posts based on your potential to contribute to our high-quality patient care as well as the demonstration of personal values aligned to those of our organisation NHS Lothian Values.
To be considered for the Technical Apprenticeship programme candidates must hold a National 5 grade C or above in Biology, Maths, English & Chemistry or Completion of Access to Pharmacy Services (SCQF Level 5), NC Pharmacy Services or and NC Applied Science (Biology or Chemistry). In addition to this, we are also interested in your values, attitude and ability to learn to enable you to become a valued member of our team. The answers to our Assessment Questions are therefore extremely important and should reflect how you feel you match our desire for enthusiastic and dynamic people who demonstrate a can-do attitude.
