Locum Consultant Surgeon (Kidney and Pancreas transplant with fixed commitment to retrieval)

Applications are welcome for the above Fixed Term, full time (40 hours per week) post based in Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.
The post holder will provide training for junior surgeons in kidney and pancreas transplant surgery and related procedures.
The post holder will contribute to outpatient clinics which will include outreach clinics to support the Kidney and Pancreas transplant service.
The post holder will have regular commitments to in-patient management during duty weeks where ward management responsibilities will be shared with a nephrologist.
The post holder will have the opportunity to participate in the living donor transplant programme.
The post holder will gain experience in the use of novel technologies in organ retrieval and preservation (in-situ and ex-situ)
The post holder will participate in the renal and pancreas transplant rota on a 1:10 basis with prospective cover.
The post holder will participate in the organ retrieval rota on a 1:7 basis with prospective cover.
